Propose a Workshop for The Company of Biologists

Dear JSDB,
I would like to introduce myself as the new Community Manager of the Node, a news and views community website hosted by the journal Development.
I wonder if you would be happy to help spread the word to your members about proposing a Workshop for The Company of Biologists. We are currently accepting proposals for Workshops to be held in 2025 and the deadline for applications is 30 June 2023. Most of our Workshops are held in the UK, but we have recently initiated a programme of running one Workshop each year in a Global South country – with the aim of increasing accessibility to researchers that might find it otherwise difficult to attend international meetings.

In addition, we’d be very grateful if there are any opportunities for you to remind your members about contributing to the Node, as well as our sister community sites, FocalPlane and preLights. We’d be delighted to feature the activities of your society on the Node, and would be happy to discuss any possibilities for collaboration here.

The Node is a place to read, write and interact with a global community of developmental and stem cell biologists. This is your site: once you’ve registered, you can freely share your blog post, job advert or event notice with the community, and interact with colleagues from around the world. You can also join and access the Node Network, a global directory of developmental and stem cell biologists.
About FocalPlane
FocalPlane is a community site for anyone who uses microscopy in their research. It is a place where you can interact with a global community of imaging scientists, engineers, chemists, and bioimage analysts. FocalPlane is your site and once registered, you are free to share a blog post, add an image to our gallery, post a job advert or put up an event listing.
About preLights
preLights is a preprint highlights service run by the biological community and supported by The Company of Biologists. Our dedicated team of scientists from the community select, highlight and comment on preprints they feel are of particular interest to the biological community. We always welcome applications for new preLighters; more information can be found on our ‘about us’ page.
