国際学術集会「Forces Shaping Life: Mechanics Across Biological Scales」のご案内
このたび、生命現象を支える力学的原理の解明を目指し、国際シンポジウム “Forces Shaping Life: Mechanics Across Biological Scales” を開催する運びとなりました。近年、生命科学の発展により、分子、細胞、組織、個体に至るさまざまな階層において、力学的相互作用が生命の形態形成や機能発現を制御する重要な要素であることが明らかになりつつあります。本シンポジウムでは、生命システムがどのように力を感知し、変換し、利用することで複雑な構造と機能を形成するのか、その基本原理について議論します。
本集会では、分子から細胞、組織、発生システムに至る幅広いスケールで生命の力学を研究する世界最前線の研究者を招き、最新の研究成果を発表していただきます。メカノバイオロジーとその関連領域に携わる異分野の研究者間の交流を通じて、生命科学における新たな研究領域の創出と国際的な連携の促進を目指します。生命科学・物理学・数理学・工学を含む幅広い分野から、若手・学生を含む多様なキャリアステージの皆様のご参加を心よりお待ちしております。

The international symposium “Forces Shaping Life: Mechanics Across Biological Scales” will be held at The University of Osaka, Japan, from 12 to 15 March 2027. This symposium aims to advance the frontiers of the life sciences by bringing together researchers from biology, physics, mathematics, engineering, and related disciplines. It will highlight emerging concepts and technologies that reveal how mechanical forces shape the form, dynamics, and function of living systems across scales—from molecules and cells to tissues and organisms.
The symposium will feature talks by leading scientists pioneering interdisciplinary approaches to uncover the fundamental principles governing the organization of living systems. Through scientific exchange and collaboration, we hope to provide an inspiring forum for exploring how mechanics drives biological complexity. We warmly invite participants from a broad range of research fields and at every career stage—from students and early-career researchers to established scientists—to join us and contribute their diverse perspectives.
